POND Model

The Pond Aquaculture Management and Development (POND) is a leading modelling software designed for onshore aquaculture management.

POND incorporates an ecosystem approach to aquaculture, using technology to provide a scalable tool to make onshore aquaculture a sustainable industry.

POND assists shrimp farms simulate different seeding scenarios, optimise production and environmental sustainability of shrimp farming. The POND model is currently directed at shrimp farms in pond culture aquaculture at the farm-scale level, providing a decision support and management software tool for shrimp farming operations.

The model is designed to use data which is monitored as standard in the majority of onshore aquaculture operations including basic data about culture practice, environmental drivers and feed costs.

The model is designed to be used by both large-scale commercial operations and small-scale farms to assess production thresholds, water quality parameters and carrying capacity.
